Set the Wayback Machine for 1990! As Jerry Garcia’s lyricist, Robert Hunter wrote some of the most evocative and haunting lyrics for songs that would become Grateful Dead classics. Hunter recently published his songs in a new book called “Box of Rain.” In November of 1990, He embarked on a small book tour in the Bay Area. At a book-signing event at Black Oak Books in Berkeley, California, Hunter casually fielded questions from deadheads about his songs, his origins in Menlo Park, playing with John Cipollina, and writing lyrics for Bob Dylan. Dead Head TV was on the scene for Hunter’s rare public event.
