After Grateful Dead keyboardist Brent Mydland passed away in July 1990, the DTV crew stopped working on several other projects in order to produce this half-hour tribute, which originally aired in November 1990. We interviewed many deadheads about this shocking loss to the musical community. We also interviewed Dave Margen who played with Brent in Go Ahead, as well as authors Blair Jackson, David Gans, and Jerilyn Brandelius. We were fortunate to sit down with lyricist John Barlow, who shared his experience co-writing Brent’s last songs.
