The Grateful Dead’s 1987 hit album “Touch of Grey” turned out to be a commercial success and a touring bonanza. “Touch of Grey” converted thousands into fans, but the residual effects of this newfound popularity continued to be a thorn in the side of the deadhead scene, as was evident on the 1989 Summer Tour Schedule. The 1989 Summer Tour may be remembered as the last with camping and vending as we know it.
